Barony Medical Centre is pleased announce that or new GP trainees have started. Both our trainees will be a valuable part of our team. GP trainees are qualified doctors who have already worked in hospitals for at least 2 years and have decided to train to be General Practitioners. This practice has found the experience of educating GP trainees both stimulating and rewarding for all involved in the process and this is something we are excited to restart.
Online Services
When we are closed
If you urgently need a GP outwith GP hours and at weekends call NHS24 on 111. This service is available Monday to Friday 18:00 - 08:30 and Friday 18:00 to Monday 08:30. Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains, suspected stroke and severe shortness of breath are emergencies.
Minor injuries (aged 5+) are dealt with at Stobhill Minor Injuries Unit. Call NHS 24 on 111 to access this service. This is suitable for cuts, burns, sprains and suspected broken bones.
Glasgow Royal Infirmary Accident and Emergency department is open 24 hours every day for genuine emergencies, likewise The Royal Hospital for Children A+E. If it is not a life or limb-threatening emergency consider calling NHS 24 first on 111.
